LoRaWAN Power State Sensor - 220V Input

Description

The Sense It LoRaWAN Power State Sensor continuously monitors the presence of a 220V AC supply and immediately detects when power is lost or restored. Combining an industrial wireless input module with an integrated optocoupler and pre-wired 3-point mains plug, it provides a simple and reliable solution for monitoring powered equipment without modifying existing electrical installations.

The sensor is ideal for monitoring refrigeration units, freezers, cold rooms, server rooms, network cabinets, pumps, irrigation systems, lighting circuits, electrical distribution boards, manufacturing equipment and other critical assets where loss of mains power requires immediate attention.

Installation is quick and non-invasive. Simply plug the sensor into a standard South African 220V outlet, connect the monitored supply through the integrated sensing plug, and begin monitoring. The optocoupler provides electrical isolation between the mains supply and the sensing electronics, ensuring safe operation while accurately detecting whether AC power is present.

When connected to the Sense It monitoring platform, users can remotely view the current power status of every monitored asset, receive instant notifications when power is lost or restored, and analyse historical outage events across multiple sites. Alert notifications can be delivered via WhatsApp, email, Telegram or in-app notifications, allowing maintenance teams to respond quickly to unexpected outages.

The battery-powered wireless design continues operating during power failures, ensuring that loss of mains power can still be reported. This makes the sensor particularly suitable for remote sites where rapid fault detection is essential to protect equipment, products and business operations.
